On April 22, 2024, a Polish-Canadian economic seminar entitled Renewable energy and its use as the energy of the future was held in Edmonton, Canada, in which participated, among others, President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda and Secretary of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Szajna.
There was also a meeting with the authorities of the Province of Alberta.
During the seminar "Polish–Canadian Hydrogen - collaboration and seeking opportunities", the President pointed out that Poland remains a key trading partner of Canada in Central and Eastern Europe (more about the President's visit).

The following people took part in strategic conferences:
- Andrzej Duda, President of the Republic of Poland
- Jonathan Wilkinson, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Government of Canada,
- Seifi Ghasemi, chairman, president and CEO of Air Products,
- Very Dear Danielle Smith, Prime Minister, Government of Alberta,
- Nancy Southern, president and CEO of ATCO,
- Yoshinori Kanehana, president of Kawasaki Heavy Industries,
- Nicolai Pogadl, Head of the German Secretariat for the Energy Partnership with Canada, Canadian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc.,
- Grzegorz Gałczyński, Strategic Industries Manager, Polish Investment and Trade Agency,
- Ivette Vera-Perez, President and CEO of the Canadian Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association,
- Alanna Hnatiw, Mayor and Chair of the Edmonton Region Hydrogen Center in Sturgeon County.
The event was attended by representatives of Polish companies, start-ups and universities specializing in the production and use of hydrogen energy, including: for energy and transport purposes.
Piotr Kosowicz, president of the management board of EcoEnergyH2 and Uznamsko-Wolińska Dolina Wodorowa with headquarters in Świnoujście, was also there.
This year's main theme was:
- Accelerating Canada's Hydrogen Future
- presenting the business case for new energy investments in large-scale hydrogen production,
- progress in implementing hydrogen technologies to meet decarbonization commitments,
- creating domestic and international export opportunities to strengthen Canada's position as a global leader in the hydrogen industry.
Poland is one of the leading countries in the world in terms of the amount of hydrogen produced. And although Polish hydrogen production is 1 million tons per year, which places it in third place as a producer in the European Union and fifth in the world, it does not produce green hydrogen, but gray hydrogen. Hydrogen as the so-called green fuel, which is to become a common fuel in the future after the energy transformation, must be imported or newly produced.
On the occasion of the Hydrogen Convention in Edmonton PAIH created a presentation, presented during the operation of the Polish stand.
The President also visited the pavilion of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency "Made in Poland", where he talked to Polish entrepreneurs. Earlier, he also held a meeting with President of ATCO Nancy Southern (more about meetings at the convention).
President Piotr Kosowicz held a number of meetings during which he presented the hydrogen energy project of EcoEnergyH2 in the area of the city of Świnoujście, which, thanks to its enormous potential for the development of hydrogen technologies, was defined as the Uznam-Wolińska Hydrogen Valley area.
